My Ride: 2005 530i, sport package, 123 style wheels, amethyst grey, beige leather / poplar wood, comfort seats, rear window shade breyton front lip spoiler???
Default

Had a 3 series e46 and loved it. Kept it clean, again, staying within the OEM looks. Was looking at getting some E46 M wheels but they wouldn't fit without getting the sides flared. So didn't bother.

Can someone tell me if :

1) the style number for the M5 wheels (cant figure it out from just looking on the internet.
2) would they fit on my E60? Spacing and all...

I know tire rack, but for the life of me I can't figure them out, I just know when I see them up close, and yes I've seen them, wow!

What makes you say the 166M wheels won't fit the E60 without flaring the arches? Offsets are only 8mm (12mm vs 20mm) more in the fronts and 4mm more in the rears (28mm vs 32mm).

Compared to the normal E60 19" wheels

The M5 Style 166 is also 0.5" wider ( 8.5J) and uses 255/40 tires as opposed to 245/35. According to tyre calculators this makes the tyre diameter almost 1.5 inches bigger on the M5 front, and on the back aswell

The difference in width increases the chance for rubbing with that offset

I noticed that the tire sizes are larger on the M5/M6, but what about using 245/35-19 and 275/30-19 on the 166M wheels? DO you think the 12mm offset on the front wheels will cause rubbing?

Its hard to tell without testing the wheel

The M5 front rim is 8.5J , so is wider than anything offered normally for the E60, now will a 8.5J fit in the wheel well ?, and not rub while turning ?

Also where does the M5 offset put the rim lip compared to the fender and suspension strut ? 8mm difference can be a lot

Most of the aftermarket 19" wheels I have seen are offered in 8.5J front with 15mm offset, like the Hamann PG2 and BBS RS-GT. The BBS RG-R is even bigger at 9J with a 20mm offset. 8.5J will definitely fit in the wheel well of the E60.
I am just wondering if the 12mm offset on the 166M front wheels will be too aggressive and require fender rolling. 3mm doesn't seem like a huge difference, but you're right that it'll be hard to tell without actually testing it.
