Hi Guys,
Im considering purchasing the new M5 wheels for my 2004 530i. When i do, are there any modifications
i need to do so they fit right? I don't want to mess around with suspension and such. Basically want to swap the old factory for the new M5 ones. Is this possible?????

M5 wheels fit fine...M5 wheels/with M5 tires do not fit. What kind of tires and size are you planning on using?

No mods required. All you will need is new tires: 245/35/19 for the front and 275/30/19 for the rears.

Do a search, lots will back the cahnge up. Here is my cars set up. M5 166 but with 245/35/19F and 275/30/19R smaller than the actual M5 tyres. The M5 which has wider wheel arches and can accomodate bigger rubber.

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

Search the forum, there are a ton of discussions on this. I would also consider a 285 in the rear, it fills out the wheel well a little more.

Take a look at the difference here. IMHO, not that big of a factor. 285s will do just fine.

Great info - do you happen to have a chart comparing 275/30/19 to 285/30/19? I'm convinced it's no big deal, but it would be nice to see if it was easily available.

Once again - great info. So it becomes pretty clear in my mind. .4mph under vs. .1mph over for a tire that looks better in the wheel well. Sounds like a great tradeoff. Of course, to truly compare, I guess you need to add the slight cost difference for the tires as well.
