Who has experience with these replicas:

http://www.ca-at.co.uk/variants-Y2FyX21ha2...Q9MjEzMw==.html

pricewise, they look ok. The catch is that you have to build the motor out of your current mirror and put them in these replicas.. how difficult? anyone here has experience?

thanks

They can be good replica mirrors, but installing replica parts would be sad : search on eBay, wait some months to find the good deal and finally get OEM parts . This is my opinion .

Bye

Alex,

i have been searching for months (2 to be exact) - there is no way anyone offers LCI mirrors on ebay, they either offer pre 09/05 mirrors or pre-lci mirrors, but none that fit the LCI models..

I am really not willing to pay 1600 EUR for mirrors from the dealer, this is being offered at 1/4 of the price...

ciao

2 options really then: buy now replicas with no led or fold option or wait for ebay OEM.
I would wait for the real thing personally, class shows in the details

I've posted this info before but in case you missed it. These are just housings with plain mirrors on them. The housing is not auto fold, the mirorrs are not auto dipping, there are no puddle lights on them, the motors need to come out from your current mirrors and they are not painted.

hi Keith, tnx for the link but the problem with all ebay mirrors are that they do not fit LCI models - that is the problem. We are one year into the LCI and i have yet to see a LCI M5 mirror on ebay...

True, they are just housing with the plain mirrors. But becuase you are putting in the motors from your old mirror, you have no connectivity issue and you keep the auto dipp functionality (because that is drivien by the motor which you are keeping). However, as you say, no auto fold and no puddle lights. For me, the memory functionality (motor driven), auto dipp (again motor driven) and heated mirrors is important, although I am not sure whether this feature is really supported...
True what you are saying about the motor. But an important point which I forgot to mention was that Heating on the mirrors is missing. This is a big issue for me because its almost a safety thing in the UK where is rains so much. The other missing features wont be missed too much because I dont have any of them on my current mirrors.

Exactly - that is the one thing they could not confirm - heated mirrors. I just can not imagine buying a car in this price range and not have heated mirrors in winter or rainy days....
