Well, just bought a 2006 M5 a few weeks ago and immediately began taking her apart for inspection along with going through all the maintenance. Since I had somewhat limited information on previous maintenance aside from a clutch replacement, some filter changes, a coolant flush and some other little odds and ends, I decided it would be best to tackle all the maintenance myself and know exactly what has been done. With that I ordered up some parts to get the project started and they have been slowing showing up. Below is the current list of things I plan to perform over the next couple weeks:

- Replace Spark Plugs
- Replace Engine Oil
- Replace Diff Oil
- Replace Tranny Fluid
- Install Stainless Braided Lines
- Flush Brake System w/ Motul Fluid
- Install Matte Front Grills
- Install Matte Side Grills
- Install LCI Tail Lights (done)
- Install H&R Lowering Springs
- Replace Hood Shocks (done)
- Replace Belts
- Install Underdrive Pulley
- Undercarriage/Suspension detail
- Paint Correction
- Refinish Headlight Lenses (done)
- Recondition/Clean Interior Leather Seats

I think that is all I can think of at the moment. Will log my installs repairs as I go and will update the thread.

Headlight Refinishing
Lots of time and patience to do this but I'm pretty happy with the results

First Box-o-Goodies Arrived
First order of parts came in today. A good reminder at what needs to be done

Thanks guys. I'll be sad to see the 545i go to a new owner this weekend but the M5 is quite the beast and will be the new project. As for the oil and parts I went to ECS Tuning.

good job on the lens. Do they make a smaller bottle of power gloss compound?

Not sure about the sizes available however this is what process I used:

Menzerna Powergloss
Menzerna Intensive Polish
ScratchX
Menzerna po85rd

This combination seems to work pretty well.
