My Ride: 2008 550 sport with all the fixins, 07 yukon with all the fixins.

Has anyone tried to put the m5 paddle shifters on the 550 sport. And if so, did it work properly. I did a search but could not find it if anyone has previously asked this question. D

I believe someone posted a DIY on adding a paddle shifter style but not sure if it's the same as the M5 ones though.

Hi

Can be made very easy on all E60/61 prod. after 09-2005 , on with the steering wheel ( M5 w. pads. ) and then a coding , and your done

The OP has an '08 with the LCI (electronic) shifter. For LCI the shift +/- signals are sent over a single wire vs. separate wires for pre-LCI, so I'm thinking programming would be required at a minimum -- if the standard shiftbox ECU will even recognize the paddles.

I spoke to patrick the other day and he informed me that he had plug and play and also can change the way that our shifters wk. for ex. instead of pulling(upshift) and pushing (down sift) he can make left down shift only and right upshift only just like it should have been.
