My Ride: In a place where the Mercedes density is the highest in the world (no. of MB per square kilometer) I choose a Bimmer, why? because of one thing "The Ultimate Driving Experience"

I did a little search on the forum and someone have posted a spec sheet and it say that our car can take on a 245/19 for the front and 275/19 for the rear at most. The M5 can take on a little bigger 255/19 front and 285/19 rear. Don't know if that extra 10mm will cause fender rubbing though.

Thanks - I have 245 all round at the moment, am just wondering if the 255 fronts and 295 rears will fit or not before I buy...

E60Speed has it right once again!
The M5 wheels are higher and your speedometer will give you lower measures that you should.
It will also affect the the auto gearbox funtions do to the wheels wrong spinning speed etc.
Go for tire sizes given in the owners manual!

My Ride: 2021 F93 M8 Competition
The Style 166 and Style 172 wheels will both fit normal E60s (except xi models, officially), but not with the size of tires the M5 uses. You can use those wheels, but with 245/35-19 on the front and 275/30-19 on the rear.

The only difference is the hub offset. The Style 166 wheel is set out further from the hub than the 172 by 6mm on the front and 4mm on the rear.
The 245/35-19 and 275/30-19 will look fine (not to mention the same) on a Style 166 or 172.
