The right mirror dips when you put the car in Reverse. The adjustment knob of your mirrors should be in the left position.

silly, me I have the same feature now.

Interesting to know that BMW Netherlands does not guarantee exact fitting when retrofitting these mirrors on E60/E61

Are you sure that the M5-mirrors are available for retrofit at all on e60/61? They are included in the accessoiries brochure but dealers here in Lux and Germany they are restricted (only for m5 owners)

I have a M5 and lost both mirrors

There seems to be a restriction on the Type 166 rims; BMW Netherlands did not say anything about a mirror restriction though; they only did not want to give full guarantee regarding exact fitting.

Here in Belgium, there's no problem getting the mirrors. My dealer just got his first M5 delivered and they are checking now whether it is possible to retrofit the mirrors on other E60 models. Fitting them is not an issue, but the current impression is that there may be an electronics compatibility issue.
Would be a shame, because I'd love (read 'almost die') to have those mirrors.

Off topic (so forgive me my enthusiasm) while talking to my dealer, he also said he's expecting my car one of these days. Sooner than expected... but I am not complaining

I will post a message if I hear anything back on mirror compatibility. If anyone else hears or already knows about this, pls let us know.
