my m5 front is done by shaving down the foam to get it as flush as possible, after you get that part done it's just like putting on another bumper. btw, i did not change my fenders. member my530i, fred, also did this conversion. here's the picture, fred to the left and mine to the right.

So what parts did you buy for this front converson? All I really see is the Bumper Cover and Lower center grid. Did you purchase any brackets or brake air ducts?

Yes, the m5 support brackets along with the m5 air ducts were used in this process. That's pretty much everything, but most importantly the foam must be shaved down until it fits the way you want it. I hear some folks took out the foam, but that's all up to you. Keep in mind that it isn't a 100% fit! The part where the fender meets with the bumper will stick out a little.

I believe member AlexFW has done this conversion...might want to PM him....

I replaced the carrier too, because members drantispy suggested me to do it.
But to be honest, they looked the same, although drantispy told they are different.
Now I have an E60 carrier to give back to the dealer, asking for a pair of free oil changes. (spam: and an Mtech front bumper - if you are European and interested in it check my sig)

As AlexFW said you will need the M carrier of the front bumber and the shock absorbers (left and right). I have done this on my E60 (actually it's a whole M5 replica exterior car) .
The carrier bumber M you need http://bmwfans.info/original/E60/Lim/M5-S8...51/ill-51_5476/ which is only for the M5 otherwise you will have to shave the shock absorbers. Hear this. I 've tried to install the front bumber with the front bumber carrier front with normal shock absorbers. Did't fit right. There was a small gap. Then tried with the M shock absorbers on it. The gap was less than before but continue to have the gap problem, till i bolt on the M carrier bumber front with M shock absorbers and fit by it's own. You need air ducts from M5 only in conjuction with air duct brackets with code 51 11 7906 473 and ...........474. You need the fenders with the plastic beneath them and the support side panel (left - right). I believe now you are ready to start your modification. A small tip (if you use every M5 part you will not have any problem at all, everything fits right, if you keep some parts from your E60 without changing them the final result might not be the expected, different gaps between bumber and fender etc etc etc)

Thanks for the clarification, I thought those euros were wasted.
