I wouldn't do it (if you're aiming for an M5 soundtrack). The M5 sounds the way it does because of the V10; an inline-6 running an M5 muffler won't give you that signature V10 wail. At best, you'll only enhance the sewing machine strum of the inline-6.
I'd check out aftermarket mufflers if power (although not much) is your goal like the OP suggested ... RPi, Dinan, RDSport, etc.

Mine is a custom magnaflow quad setup. Many members who have M5's usually swaps their stockers out with aftermarket for a reason. Don't know, I would just go with a different setup, rather then using stock M5 exhaust for the quads.

I'd use the left side only. Here is my 5th grader logic. The M5 exhaust is designed for a 5L engine. You have a 2.5L engine. Use half of the exhaust.
