Well, in fact, it would be quite useful.
I have done a couple of 260km/h+ runs and the needle just sticks to 260km/h and doesn't move a muscle until you get below it.
According to my tuner, it does about 275km/h, but i can't check it (the iPhone GPS drops at about 240km/h).

why not just try the mod of changing the LED's on cluster to white instead of the orange? Would be more cost effective....
