M-tech retrofit for E61... WTF

...In case all dont travel to the E61 board or the BMW USA website, it appears that BMW NA, is now 'officially' offering the M-tech kit for the E61 only at this point:

I dont know about any other US members, but I am getting to the point of frustration with BMW NA that I may not get the E60 just on principle...
...this is beyond unaccceptable to me....they have a few precious months to correct this before the sept order specs are available, what can these losers who are running the marketing department be thinking?

Now that I've gone to the trouble of ordering my M-kit from europe, and having it installed..... I'm actually glad BMW NA isn't making it available.
Makes my car look different than everyone else I see on the road with an E60.
Just wouldn't be the same if everyone else had it.
Although it's kinda lame to offer it for the E61 only.

just looked at that link you posted and the images on that BMW NA page do show an E61 but they certainly do not show it has the M-Tech kit fitted as standard
There are lots of images on this site of the M-tech kit on EURO E60's.
HERE for example, that is what i consider to be the M-tech kit.
you sure it comes as std on the sports wagon or only as an extra?

[/quote]Whatever, it's inevitable - the kit will someday reach our shores as a factory option - maybe with the rumoured turbo model. It would be interesting to see if the "accessory" status on the NA site means that it gets installed by the dealer (or the dealer's body shop of choice) after it reaches the US.
