My E60 comes with a hidden towing hitch. I never use it and I have been looking into retrofitting the M-tech kit. Contacted a site that does this locally, however found out today that it can't be done with rides that come with a towing hitch. Is this true? From what I have read M-tech kits ship out with 2 diffuser's. One being for cars with a tow hitch. Does the LCI have a different tow hitch I am not aware of. Since mine is hidden and I need to hit a switch of some sort to activate it.
In any case, I emailed them today if removing the tow hitch would help since I don't plan on ever using it.
Thanks for any info.

It's partly true, you can't use M-tech bumpers with electric folding towing hitch. M-tech cars with towing hitch use a normal detachable towing hitch, that is stored in the trunk floor.
I have towing hitch on my car with M-tech bumpers, but of course the detachable one.

Thanks for getting back to me. I had no idea there was an electric folding towing hitch. Kinda cool how it works, just a little down about the issue with the M-tech bumper. Hopefully I can figure out if its possible to remove the towing hitch and then be able to install the bumper.
In any case thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

You can propably sell your electric hitch and buy a normal one for less money if you still want a towing hitch. Since you have the connector to the trailer already, it's just to do a swap I'd guess.

You can have an tow on the M Tech but that M Tech has a different diffuser with a cut out in the centre.

Thanks for all the info guys ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)
Got word that it will be okay to remove the electronic tow hitch in order to get the kit installed. I'll probably take awt's advice and sell it and possibly replace it with a normal one.
Got a little worried there yesterday that I wouldn't be able to install the kit.
