I don't see anything wrong with putting the //M emblem.? He does have the MTech Kit made by BMW Motorsport which that emblem represents.? He's not putting the M5 emblem on.? It's like putting the AC Schnitzer emblem on cars with AC Schnitzer products as long as you're not putting ACS5.

but it implies M peroformance, which is an entirely different category of cars. The M sport kit is just cosmetic -

So when a 325ier puts an m emblem when swapping rims - it then prepresent M Perofrmanace because he or she actually has bmw M rims.

Furthermore, what if he or she goes further with their 325ier and gets an Alpina steering wheel - why not have the first hybrid M Made and Alpina made collaborative 325i M Alpina!

Just be proud of what you purchased - if it is a 525 the you bought a great car, if its a 545 - then that's what is, not trying to be a 505 hp look a like, poser, wanker, etc. - with a badge -

Its a 545 with a aero package that looks great - I can make you a an original badge of merit - because the first impression that I had was - hey that car owner is aiming to be a bit different, loves his car and wants to create - but then what he was really trying to do is trick the public a bit by claiming that this is an M car! Now your just a poser. Stick with the creativity.

Prada probably has my back, when in NYC or Hong Kong, anyone can buy a prada look a like for a 10th of the price - but I've seen some logos badged as "Prado" instead of Prada.

even Diana respectfully does not just hand out emblems - you achieve a certain upgrade to be a considered an Diana 5

As for AC Schnitzer thats does pose controversy for me - because they do want consumers to badge - but when I see a schnitzer badge, I think that they bought some plastic or a muffler, or wheels.

If the M guys wanted the public to know that they made the sport kit for every 5 series- then they would have badged it on a flare or so on.

I guess its about Brand, or branding - perhaps consumers receive different messaged when they see a logo - when I see an M badge - I think of a special car made by bmw. A different output, experience, etc - and for all of us BMW fans - they should be appreciated for its integrity - since few sedans or coupes can accomplish what they M guys have done. :'( :'( :'( :'(

This issue has been debated before on this forum and I don't think anything was resolved. I personally wouldn't put that logo on my car either but my opinion is to each his own.

On a slightly different note, I think you meant Dinan 5 instead of Diana 5 but anyway, I saw the Dinan badge on eBay once and the bidding was above $280.

I love the m kit. It looks great on your cars. I have a queston ... does the the rear bumper that comes with the kit taper inward behind the wheels more than the stock bumper? In other words, can you see the rear tires better from behind the car with the m kit than with the stock bumper?

Yes it does. The MTech rear has an integrated diffuser so it tucks the tail up, if you will, for more aerodynamnic airflow compared to the stock rear. I've attached a pic of my car before and after the kit although it's not taken directly from behind.
