Hi,
I am thinking of getting the M Aero kit installed on my 2003 e60 530D SE. However talking with my dealer he implied that altough the parts are OEM from BMW, I still have to inform my insurance company and that the insurance company might not issue cover if I install the kit as has happened to one of their other customer's.

Any experience or thoughts from other UK members of this excellent forum please?

Bizarrely this could happen! To be honest it might be easier to 'upgrade' to a Sport/M Sport model... The bodykit is part of the car and is taken into account with the insurance. A modification is treated quite differently by insurers. (I think the sport models are generally 1 insurance group higher than the SE)

Biggest issue with the M Trim factory model is the restrictive exterior colour choices.
