Yeah $2700 is too much to pay for paint/installation. My local BMW dealer here in So Cal (Long Beach BMW) has their own body shop in the premises, and I believe they only do BMW cars. I'm not sure how much they charge, but will find out early next year when I purchase the kit. I'll get a quote from them. I'm hoping they give me a good deal since they did some work on my E46 before. And the body shop manager there is pretty cool.

Little cheaper... about $1900-$2000

Tej,

As was stated, the best way to approach this is to purchase the M aero kit as an aftermarket upgrade. Get your, get your aero kit, and have a local body shop paint and install.

You are paying more than MSRP, which is $3,285 installed at the VPC. Invoice to your dealer is $2,461. My dealer is charging me $2,500 installed at the VPC essentially forgoing any markup. Now, if you got the spoiler too, then you are paying closer to MSRP, but still too much. The spoiler is $505 MSRP installed at the VPC.

Remember fellas that when your M-tech aero kit is written on your new car invoice (contract) any issues will be covered under the 4yr/50k new car warranty. It wouldn't hurt to have it specify on your paperwork "Full M-tech aero kit painted and installed by the factory". Personally i'd ONLY have VPC do the deed.

If you purchase the kit/spoiler and have it installed after the fact by the dealer it's only covered by the accessories warranty. A mom and pop body shop you're considering painting and installing your stuff better be top notch if u decide to go that route.

A shady dealer could charge you for the kit on the new car deal and when your car arrives say they need to charge you extra for the paint and install. Get everything in writing because verbal agreements are worthless. If it's not on paper it never happened

installing the kit aftermarket should bear no weight on the warranty. Even if u break the 'warranty' bumper, they would not cover it anyway...
