I had Eibach Pro-Kit installed on OEM sports suspension.

The drop was minimal.
Thats good to know. So its not needed to drop with sports suspension.
Unless you want a minimal drop.

Get ready for a really harsh ride in the H&R's. If you get the Race, your ass will be even more sore. Hahahaha! I wouldn't suggest H&R for NYC streets. Get the Eibach Pro-Kit. That's what I have in my M5, aside from the Dinan Stage 2 Suspension package. I love the Eibach Kit. It's not as harsh as my old H&R kit.

As for the Eibach Pro-Kit, the ride is just slightly stiffer than the OEM sports suspension. IMO - perfect ride for city and highway.

But, again the drop was only a 1/2inch or so.

/cough Get the KW coil-overs (V2's) /cough

You'll have more hight / drop settings.
You'll have other setting as well, like the rebound.

For XI model you can only go w/ H&R Sport Spring or go all the way w/ expensive KW v3 coilovers.
