lowering with H&R or Eibach

I'm a newbie. I didn't plan on modding my car but I think it's time.
Currently I have a non sport 530i. I would like to lower it for better handling and a more aggressive look. I am not interested in coilovers. It seems like more people go with Eibach (with stock struts). Is the ride that much worse with the H&R springs (with stock struts)?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in the DFW, Texas area?
What is the average cost??

My Ride: F13 M6
welcome. i have a non-sport 530i as well and decided to go with the eibach pro-kit. the ride is not that much worse with the H&R, but its been said that eibach gives the closest comfort of stock. but you are able to go with H&R sports also with stock shocks and struts if you wish. good luck and enjoy the forums.

The Eibach gives a 'wedge' stance where front is lower than the rear, H&R gives a 'level' stance. H&R gives a more sportier ride compared to the Eibach. Both works well with standard dampers. Btw, nice to have you onboard.

Thanks for the warm welcome and quick replies. The only thing I don't want is the reverse rake look (where the rear is lower than the front).
Do you have any recommended places for install in the DFW, Texas area? How much is a reasonable price for install (springs, labor, and alignment)? I don't want to get ripped off.

If staying with non-sport stock struts I think the Eibachs might be a little better choice (since slightly softer). The difference in the drop between the 2 brands is small enough that I don't think you could notice a difference in the real world.
Since your car is older (and esp if it has some miles -- and in TX it probably does) I would really suggest changing the struts at the same time. Doesn't cost any more for the install and the stock struts will wear out faster after you change the ride height (so you might have to pay for the labor again later in addition to new struts). Would really take your handling to another level!
