Lower Suspension and Tire Size help

Hey All,
I'll be getting my 08 535i Sport (Grey Metallic) in a few days. I've been checking out all of the mods done on this forum and I'm getting some ideas. I hope I can get a question answered though. I'd like to lower the car about an inch and put 19" CSL style wheels (Hyper Black) on.
Not looking for a super tight ride but like the lower look.
What is the most cost effective way to lower the car?
What would the best wheel size be? I was thinking 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. I'd like the tire to overhang the edge of the wheel a bit to protect from curb rash. As offset advise would be appreciated also.

My Ride: 14 550i
So I sell the VMR VB3 (CSL Style) and they recommend 19x8.5/9.5 et20/22. If you want you can run 19x10 et25 in the rear. As far as tire sizes, I'd recommend 245/35/19 and 275/30/19
