Nice ride and your mods sound great too! I don't have a link, but I thought I remembered there was a guy doing the vinyl "shadowline" trim for a reasonable price, he did several members cars here and I believe is a member here too. They members were very happy with his work and it was reasonable priced as well....shoot Rudy a PM I bet he knows who I'm referring to....good luck and congrats on finding the ride you wanted

For the tinting, you should ask if they could do microedge on the bordering of the tint. That way there will be no visible outline like the given pic.

Regarding the tint curvature concern...

Most places I know around my area fit the tint to the outside of the window first.

They clean and spray the outside of the window and the tint with the adhesive side facing out.

Then they work the curve by heating and shrinking it to the curve on the outside.

Once it fits the curve, they proceed to install it on the inside of the window.

This minimizes any problems being jammed in the back seat trying to get the heat gun down to the bottom etc.
These are both great tips. When I do start visiting tinter pros at the end of the month I'll be armed with info to see how they describe their handling of the rear window, and also how they handle the edge dots.

As for Rudy and the guy who does the vinyl, I guess flying him over to europe might end up being a little expensive

I'm hoping one of our UK members pipes in here and says they know someone in the UK that does shadowlining (whether it be vinyl or paint or something else).

My 545i is tinted, but the shop that does the tint has to apply heat and pressure to the "non adhering dotted edge". The pressure in combination with heat will hopefully get the tint adhesive to contour to the dots. Mine is prefect, but you can't cheap out on the tint job. Go to a reliable shop. If they tell you there is nothing they can do about it, BS. My tint has 100% adherence with the window. It is posssible, but they are too lazy to work on it.

Thanks for that. I thought I hadn't "gone cheap" when I got my Audi done, but clearly I'd "gone crap" instead. It's hard getting work done in Germany. I'm pretty fluent in German, but not totally
