Hey guys, as you all may know I currently have a quad setup on my 535xi with a magnaflow muffler. The sound is great but I am kinda getting tired of it and looking for something louder. What setup would you guys recommend? I am thinking of swapping out the magnaflow muffler and replacing it with something else. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks

 

Well, you can always run pipes directly from your cats to the back (muffler delete). Won't hurt emissions but it will be mean sounding. I can't think of any other muffler that will make it louder except Eisenmann Race. However, those are very expensive and a little raspy. I'd probably go for an RPi exhaust if I were you for a more defined sound and actual HP gains.

 

Agreed. That should be the most inexpensive way to get the sound.

RPI is not a quad setup, so you will have to mod the bumper or add a dummy tip.

 

i posted in another thread this same suggestion
i didnt run new piping, but i installed an ac schnitzer muffler with a resonator delete on my car.
the sound was good but i wanted it louder and meaner.
removed the two cats before the resonator after the main cat and voila...much louder and a lot meaner.
im very happy with the results and it was only a $100 job.

i would do that before any drastic changes.

 

B&B exhaust should give you more volume, most guys on here that had them complained they were too loud. you could also try deleting the resonator.

Wonder how that will sound on a 535.

 

rpi does not make an xi n54 set-up, it's different from the rwd...and as stated above, they do not have a quad set-up for non M e60's...


I know member pauken4 had and just recently sold an rpi exhaust on his 535xi, but even RPI does not know how he got it to fit correctly as E has said he has tried and said it does not bolt on correctly...

 

you can try first taking off the resonator(s) with leaving the magnaflow on first. after that if you still want more sound, Id say go with a smaller diameter muffler like cherry bombs or go with straight pipes.

 

Thanks guys. My first step will b removing the resenator nd if that's not loud enough I will go with a smaller size muffler. I think str8 pipes will be a little to low
