This is to bjsbuds,

I have a 545 and I just bought some OEM M5 wheels with the OEM tires only to find out that they don't fit. What tires are on your car?
Extrasmooth,
Sorry, should have provided more details, but my post was long-winded enough.

The OEM wheels & tires are 18" - Style 124 BBS wheels with Contenental Conti All-Season 245/40R18 & 275/35R18. I have since sold the tires on Craigslist and mounted Dunlap winter tires on these wheels.

The Style 166 M6 BBS wheels are 19" and they are mounted on General Exclaim tires 245/35/19 & 275/30/19. I went with the M6 166 over the M5 166 because of the more agressive offset.

Thanks for the info and yoiur car looks great! My wife is from anderson BTW. I like the 35% tint too. When all is done on my car I bet ours will look similar, I like the 166's but I am thinking of breyton race gts in matte grey. Want 20's but the streets here in new jersey stink so 19's may be more wise. Mteck might be my route but my only concern is how similar it looks to a m5. Dont get me wrong, i love the m5. Thanks again for the tips!
No offense taken. So, I guess you do want your car to be a little more than understated. Post pictures, we would all love to see. That way we can watch the transformation. I guess your wife knows where I live then... Good luck with the modding!

Any actual pictures of this thing installed? It is interesting, but the photoshopped pics aren't doing it for me...
Here is another pic of the wide bodykit form Ibherdesign (called Kaiet wide)

That's a VERY aggressive look. I have the kit and everyone always gives me a thumbs up. But it's very low to the ground.

I would go for the MTECH kit for a subtle look. Can't forget lighting upgrades since at night, you cant see the car except for the lights and lighting tells u everything
+1. John's Rieger kit as about as aggressive a kit as there is out there. It looks great to me -- but it's not for everyone. M-Tech is much more subtle.

Don't forget the hood- the e60 flame surfacing looks great with a bulge in the hood- see Andy's pics = http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VIS-04-09-B...=item518fbaf652

Great look and very unique IMO

really?

i had 285 on my 166s before and now on my 128s

no rubbing with the 166s

tiny bit of rubbing with the 128s but those r 21's so a bit is expected

:l
Does your car have the sports package/suspension? I put my stock M5 wheels/tires on my friend's 550 with sports package and it rubbed in the rear too. Most people I've heard off that buys M5 wheels only buy the wheels and buy tires that are 245 in front and 275 in the rear. Maybe you have a low aspect ratio on the 285s?

depends on the amount of money u have to spend

:l

to be honest the mtech pieces have been done to death

and with great understanding as to y
I think the OEM 166s have been "done to death". If you want a subtle look, stick with OEM parts, those are the most "subtle" i.e M-tech, M5 spoiler, M trunk finisher, black kidney grills or cf ones, and a set of nice wheels. OEM doesn't give you much choice for the 5, but I've seen a few members with OEM 20s .

this is NOT understated
Well the rear is defintely not understated but I think the front and sides are nice. Match them with an MTech rear.

non-sport

even now with the 285/30/21 in rear with a 5mm spacer it doesnt rub as much... just when hitting large dips...

i did roll the fenders though

i m looking to drop just the front of the car with sport springs to even the car out better to my liking

im running 255/30/21 in front and its doing much less rubbing then my old 245/35/21... again 5mm spacer in there and rolled fenders

thinking of switching to 10mm in the rear though
