I have a 2006 5560i. I want to make my car look more aggressive, but I do not want a M5 clone. What mods (i.e. trunk finisher and rear spoiler, front bumper, side skirts, rear window spoiler, etc) do you guys reccomend and can you include pics and costs. If anyone is selling any of these thing i might be interested. Thanks.
I too purchased a 2006 550i just a little over a year ago, after owning three different 3-series. I initially thought it was an old person's car, until I discovered the performance of the 550i. Someone from the bimmerfest forum recommended I try this forum for more info on the e60. It wasn't long after that I flew to Chicago to purchase a CPO 550i.
I thought the car looked hot, but I have always purchased bigger wheels & tires for my cars, just to set them a part from the traditional OEMs. So, over the past year here's my list of major mods.
I started with a sound system upgrade for my Logic 7 from BSW, then my beloved wheels, the ole standby style 166 M6 19" wheels. I just love them. I don't care if anyone thinks they are over played. They are a noticeable, but not in your face. Then I had the windows tinted with Pinnacle Forumula-One 35 tint. Legal in Ohio is only 50 tint, and I agonized over which to go with. I like the 35 tint, not too drug dealer looking.
Then the M-Tech kit was next. I purchased the whole kit from Gary at BMW of Newport, I installed only the front & side skirts, and sold the rear bumper. Not sure if I had to do it over again if I wouldn't have installed the whole kit. But, I like what I have.
I have done a bunch of lighting mods lately, but the big stuff is done, and I like the looks of my car. I can't begin to tell you how many positive comments I receive when I take the car into the local tire dealership, local BMW dealership, and just admirers. Personal preference of course, but I think it's sutle. You decide.

Thanks for the info and yoiur car looks great! My wife is from anderson BTW. I like the 35% tint too. When all is done on my car I bet ours will look similar, I like the 166's but I am thinking of breyton race gts in matte grey. Want 20's but the streets here in new jersey stink so 19's may be more wise. Mteck might be my route but my only concern is how similar it looks to a m5. Dont get me wrong, i love the m5. Thanks again for the tips!

This is to bjsbuds,
I have a 545 and I just bought some OEM M5 wheels with the OEM tires only to find out that they don't fit. What tires are on your car?

most common thing to do is switch the fronts for 245 instead of the original 255

You'll also rub with the rear 285s that come on the OEM M5 wheels as well.
i had 285 on my 166s before and now on my 128s
no rubbing with the 166s
tiny bit of rubbing with the 128s but those r 21's so a bit is expected

My Ride: Alpine White 2006 530Xi (SLD)
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
I'm a big fan of the alpina lip too, I too am looking to do something with the front of my car but don't want to go with the mtech or m5 (everybody has this). Also for consideration could be the replica hamann CF front lip, search for v_therussian he had one on his car.
