you get welcome lights, and lm2 allows you to install lci lights in a pre-lci car...the factory way.

I just ordered the LM2. I currently have OEM LCI tails with the Bruce Miranda cables. I plan on using my current pre-LCI Adaptive Xenon headlights and use the AE as DRL and welcome lights.

Don't mean to threadjack, but after the coding for the LM2, does the new DRL function show up on the iDrive?

new DRL function? if you mean AE as DRL then No - you have to manually code it.

Yes I under stand that it has to be coded for AE to be DRL, what I mean was does the DRL enable\disable show up in the iDrive like some cars as part of the coding. I know on mine I don't have that option.

No, it doesn't. Those are Adaptive Headlights, and I think they cam with Bi-Xenon cars. There is a separate adaptive module (AHL) for that function.
