When my buddy asked about the ipod interface last week, they said the same thing. That there was a software glitch and they were waiting for the new updated software. They quoted him a 3 week time frame for the new software to arrive. On a seperate note, they quoted $300 for the install including parts. Is that a fair price?

Can you tell us what dealership was offering this price? I live in Los Angeles and my local dealership wants $800.

I was by the dealer yesterday and was shown a bulletin from BMW to dealers advising them not to do any more installs until new software is released. In Canada, DRL's were being turned off with no way to reactivate them on some cars in addition to the ipod issues.

I took my car in for a recall on the BMW assist and decided to have the iPod interface done at the same time and becuase of other issues (the CCC was fried during the assist upgrade) then ended up doing a full reprogram to 23.02.
It has a full install of 23.02 and the iPod interface and everything appears to be working fine.

What was the build date of your car? I just received the recall letter and had planned to do the same thing you did -- have an ipod interface installed at the same time.
Thanks,
