I have the AUX kit right now and I was wondering if i installed it myself, could I just take it in for an software update and have it working? Does the dealer have to do any "special" updates for the AUX function or is just a regular software update fine? I opened up my Idrive screen but could not find anywhere to plug in the AUX plug. Does anyone know where the plug is?

As fas as programming, no update should be required provided your car is cip 15 or higher. The AUX IN feature needs to be activiated theough the programming interface. This may also require some fault clearing so you should allow for this additonal time with your dealer.
