Anyone here try using the special chemical spray that you could buy for like $15 at some automotive shops, which you spray onto your license plates so that when/if you run a red light and there's a camera, the picture of your plates come out blank? I wanted to know if it really works or if it's a bunch of bs.

Over here in Germany it is highly illegal. If you do ANYTHING to your license plate, you are changing an official government document! This is like setting up a fake ID! You get in prison for it, over here.
There are several ways for the police to find out if you have modified your license plate if they stop you. They WILL see it if they just look at the license plate, because they know what they are looking for.
Also, and this is the most important:
It doesn't work!
The pics from red lights and speed traps are so damn good, they just work on the contrast and gamma, and then clearly see your license plate. Then they can also tell, you have done something illegal, and you're pretty much done.
