My Ride: 2004 545i 6spd, blk on blk, HRE 540R 20x9 in front and 20x10 in rear with Pirelli PZero Neros 245/25/20 front and 295/25/20 rear. H&R springs, and Eisenmann quad exhaust, V! radar detector, black grille, limo tint all around.
Anyone here try using the special chemical spray that you could buy for like $15 at some automotive shops, which you spray onto your license plates so that when/if you run a red light and there's a camera, the picture of your plates come out blank? I wanted to know if it really works or if it's a bunch of bs.

In Holland these sprays are banned.. So I think there are sprays out there that work..
Last week I heard somebody talking about hairspray.. It should do the same trick I was told..

It seems you should be able to save some cash and use Lacquar instead of this spray. It would be thick and glossy! I may try that first or just pay the 27 bucks and have it shipped.

Over here in Germany it is highly illegal. If you do ANYTHING to your license plate, you are changing an official government document! This is like setting up a fake ID! You get in prison for it, over here.
There are several ways for the police to find out if you have modified your license plate if they stop you. They WILL see it if they just look at the license plate, because they know what they are looking for.
Also, and this is the most important:
It doesn't work!
The pics from red lights and speed traps are so damn good, they just work on the contrast and gamma, and then clearly see your license plate. Then they can also tell, you have done something illegal, and you're pretty much done.
