that's what I thought! I wish there was an RDash type solution with no resistors and no errors simply not as bright. It seems like it's either I get the Rdash and it'll be a simple install with no problems but super bright or I get a dimmer LED with resistors, possible errors and burnout!

Here is a "not so bright" idea. Buy the RD and bust a few of the LEDs to dim the light level to your liking.

The RD license plate lights are really fantastic. But they are very bright and if you don't like bright, they would not be for you.

I'm looking for something that isn't so bright! I've had some concerned citizen types watch me pass them at speeds they deemed unacceptable and decided to take down my license plate and report me to the local authorities who then sent me a letter as a warning!! UN-Effin-believable!!!!
As a result....I don't feel the need to make my license plate glow from miles away!
What are my options for something with no errors and a oem/normal brightness? even a little brighter than oem is fine...just no flood lights!!

Instead of making them a little brighter ... buck the trend and dim them down a bit .. .. a dab of sliver paint on the bulb should tone them down enough to be legal but not "Hollywood" bright!
