I use a thin slimline metal frame on my sapphire black. Frame is black and a black sharpie on the screws blacks everything out!

I have a BMW black plate frame on mine. It serve me 2 purpose, clean look and safety issue. The edges of our license plate here in Illinois are sharp and made out of cheap metal. I don't want to cut myself when cleaning the car.

frame!....ALWAYS A FRAME!....how could you not have a plate frame? with all the mods that people put into a car how could you not finish off your plate? not having a frame is like not wearing a belt with pants....its just not right and always looks incomplete. nuf said!

One question, on your house, do you paint your gutters and downspouts something different than the rest of the house to "finish them off?"

License plate frame, yay or nay?-bumper_006.jpg

we have long yellow (nasty ) plates here, so backing plate works for me.

My point is that gutters and downspouts are necessary, just like a license plate. (If you could completely remove them from the house without any issues with water damage, most people would likely do so.)

Painting your gutters and downspouts a contrasting color to "highlight" them (or otherwise attract the eye to them) is how I view license plate frames. A plate frame is highlighting something that the eye should ignore -- not be forced to notice more...

Obviously, it's my opinion only -- if you like how frames look, go for it!
