Is this legal?

Hey folks,
I was wondering if this is legal replacement for my E60 car?

I have a friend he said it needs to have some sort of red reflections at the back of your car otherwise cops woud stop you left and right. I live in California, LA.
thanks

I dont know... Considering you see lexus lights all clear and so forth.. I wouldn't get this if I were you.. keep your OEM or go with the OEM LCi, You wont regret it.

Very True, Lexus tail lights are light and clear but they have 2 red piece of glass as a reflectors lower in the bumper.
Thanks nigxdoof for the help bro, but why wouldnt you get these? OEM LCIs are very expensive and they dont have any clar or white or smoked tail lights.
You think these clear ones wont look good on the car?
These are the same lights but not smoked like the ones up there.
Ijust want to know whats the difference between LCI and these ones?
these will look fake and cheap on the car?

Reflectors don't have to be red.
If you look at the last picture, it does have reflector. It's that white piece in that funky triangular shape.
The reason people would tell you to go LCI is because it looks so many times better.

Unless it is stamped DOT somewhere on it, its probably not legal. Regardless DOT stamp or not, the Cali cops may come and get you. Then, you just have to waste a little time either with the cop writing you a ticket or in court to argue that it is DOT approved and street legal.
We used to get harassed alot back in the days for doing this sort of stuff on our Honda's. LoL

While I can understand your reluctance to get the LCI taillights (I have the same ones you show here, except I have the normal colored ones - smoked). I wouldn't get these, they are both really ugly and illegal. California law states that they have to be able to be recognized as brake lights from 1000 feet away. Get these and you're just asking for a ticket
