Does anyone know if there are any LED replacement lamps for the number plates available which don't cause idrive errors (i.e include a load resistor).

The standard bulb is a 38mm 5w 12 v festoon.

Thanks,

Tim

I bought mine from trinityautosport for less than ?28 inc p&p, which sometimes give error, but goes away after few seconds. Or you can try ca automotive for ?42, it cost ?62 at ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LED-l...1%7C240%3A1318, so it kinda bargain.

Use that same festoon, and go to RADIO SHACK and use a 10w resistor(about $2),should work fine.I did this same mod about 2weeks ago.Took about 10 to hook up,works fine...no codes.

We just received these new LED replacement lamps in stock. They're error free and fits both pre-LCI and LCI models.

I just installed a set of the R Dash LED from Mike and I must say they look great! No errors. Simple PnP.

Mike from Autohaus was super easy to work with.

I tried the C's Bimmer method first, but the LED's in the OEM bulb mount gave an ugly striped light because of the lens. See below. The R Dash gave a bright even bath of pure white LED light. Bright enough to be eye catching, but not too bright as to look out of place.

I would like to see a comparison of the R Dash units vs. OEM LED's.

+1, but I like OEM still..and I;ve tried the radio resistor + festoon...also the jlevi.....both with no error codes..but OEM was the cleanest IMO
