My Ride: 2005 545, Titanium Gray II, 6 Spd, CWP, Sat, LPP Laser Defense, V1 (hard-wired), iPod, 38% ceramic tint, CDV delete, H&R Street Performance Coil Overs, Forced Air Induction, DriveData Pro Camera System (4 cams), M5 Front Bumper
Anyone else run into this issue?
I've got 2 LE-30 (v2.0) transponders. On occasion, the alarm only sounds for about 2 seconds (instead of 5 seconds like it's supposed to).
I'm not sure if this is normal (didn't happen on my old v1.1 LE-30 units) or if this problem is unique to me. If unique to me, I'm wondering if it could be caused by a loose wire, faulty brain unit, defective v2.0 unit(s), wacko voltage in my car, etc.
Dunno... just seems strange to me. Of course, if it's actually jamming the whole 5 seconds then I don't really care as much anyway... however, that is obviously the biggest question. Not hearing the alarm the whole 5 seconds makes me nervous. I'd rather not find out the hard way.
I have an email in to Lidatek tech support, but thought I'd ask the forum for input as well.
BTW, I gotta say the sensitivity of the LE-30 is amazing. I don't know how well it blocks, but they sure as heck pick up the laser very well.

Just thought I'd update everyone..... I forgot that I had posted this comment way back. The problem turned out to be a software glitch. Lidatek very kindly sent me replacement transponders, since that's the only way to get the software updated (update yours or replace them).
If you have the problem that I described, then that's your solution - or not. As it turns out, the LE-30 units do fire for the full 5 seconds. As Andy @ Lidatek explained to me, the issue with the units I had was that they would stop alarming once the beam was moved away from the heads, or in other words once they no longer detected a beam targeting your vehicle. This could be because the LEO moved on to another vehicle or because the LEO has panned away from your head location to another part of your car.
