I thought we wanted people to stop asking for pm's when it came to pricing. Or does it only apply to certain vendors? ![Getlost](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/getlost.gif)

will be buying a 5 series end of this month and the first mod will be the rear lights upgrade
but was wondering why a conversion cable is so costly / has so much electronics?
what can of changed between to the sets of lamps to cause them to need so much electronics?
aint they just light bulbs and leds?
is there special led dimming electronics now for the new lamps or do they come with their own mini microprocessor and actually need software packets sent to them to control them
just wondering lol

the lights themselves are not complex what is complex is the car, it doesn't like things not designed for it connected to it. So if you want the LCI look without the LEDs strobing and without any iDrive errors then its going to cost you.
But the cables are a bargain when you compare them to BMW's own solution which will cost you the same amount as the cables but with atleast an extra "0" added at the end of your bill total

Bruce is the man with the design and cable quality. I myself have experience with both v4 and v5. Personally, I prefer v5 for strob-less LCI look. I know the cable cost is not cheap, but I believe its well worth it.
