Is this all for the new style LED Tail lights? I was wondering what you had to do to just throw the new style lights on 04+ E60 530i?

1. Use Bruce's cables (for rear taillights)
2. or go the OEM route which means basically retrofitting all items (tailights, headlights, Light Module, cables + installation)

BMW is realeasing in Feb 08 a full retrofit kit under 1 part no. (tailights, headlights, Light Module, cables + installation) which will be apparently cheaper to buy then getting all items seperately as is the case now.

I actually ordered the 2008 LCI tails from Roveractive and will get Bruce's cable when he returns from his holiday. I know BMW is releasing a retrofit in '08, but at this time I'm only interested in the tails.

How much did you pay for the LCI tails from Roveractive ? I did not see this product listed in his ebay store.

Thanks.

Anyone seen this setup from Roveractive on Ebay? LCI tail lights, with two options for install.

I just wanted to add that this kit is compatible with pre'05 E60s (03-04) as well and that after coding this LM you will lose the angel eyes effect if you are going to install it on a car along with pre-LCI headlights.

Whether or not you need this kit in its entirety depends on your vehicle's build date. If your car is newer, you won't need the light module - just re-programming. It was posted somewhere (in this thread, I think). I opted for the Euro (amber signal lights) from RoverActive in combination with Bruce's cables. This combo works great. The cables are professional grade, although I would have liked them to be slightly longer in order to secure them better.

I don't control the length of the cable, I just use the cable length as made by BMW. Also to ensure the best possible connections I do not slice any cable that does need it. I infact solder parallel cables from the plug to avoid cutting them.

It has taken me 1 and a half hours to go through this post with some help of stella LOL. The work involved is fantastic and the pictures are great. As soon as i can get hold of some new tail lights i will be upgrading mine. Keep up the good work chaps.
