LCI-style brake light on pre-LCI

Hi, does any one can explain how i can get this LCI-style brake lights on my pre-LCI?
On pre-LCI when brake the outer bulb lights up (just 1 bulb on the light), i have saw that thers a pre-LCI cars with both outer bulbs light up (as on the LCI model)when the brake is applied.Its work like two-stage stop but allways.
Should i do some programming or some plug and play?

I don`t want to replace the tails just make some electronic mods.

Without replacing the tails, I don't know how much you can really do.

Ask member brabusw209amg if he knows how to re-wire your tail lights.

Lets say i want to get a Emergency Brake Effect while braking even normally.

I understood you.

I'm assuming you can work with your hands a bit. You'll take apart the tail-light and wire the second light to work with the first light, in essence. Whether this is possible, and if yes, how exactly - brabusw209amg is the one I'd ask. Hence, my response.

I don`t want to replace the tails just make some electronic mods.
This is quite easy. One called brake and others called tail. Just modified the cable with two diode connected like attached drawing will make them light on together. Good Luck.

Thanks V, no problem work with hands for me but i doubt cars software will be happy for that ...i`ll try

If your BMW dealer actived the feature, your car has "Active brakelights" meaning that both bulbs will light up when the ABS kicks in and during heavy braking. Mine does that !

Do you mean like programming AutoFoldingMirrors?

Ricky is actually also a very good source for lighting mod knowledge, so I'd adhere to his advice above mine

And sorry to "Kanye West" the thread a little, but does anyone know if we can get the programing for the "Active brakelights" done in the States? Guess I'll go searching, but figured I'd ask anyhow
