Can I retrofit the manual LCI front headrests onto a pre-LCI E60 with sports seats? I guess the 'active' function will not work as my understanding is this is linked to the airbags.
Thanks in advance.

As per PM, this is a very easy swap, my LCI extending headrests are not active, therefore no problems in swapping them over, the only big problem you will have is spending the £££'s BMW want, or spend a lifetime waiting for some to become available via another source (Fleabay/Scrapyard/Specialist breaker).
Good luck in your search.

Lee - thanks for your reply and your previous help with this; much appreciated.
However, my understanding is that you successfully retrofitted front headrests from a LCI E70 onto your pre-LCI E60. I am keen to know whether LCI E60 headrests will fit a pre-LCI E60. I spoke to the parts manager at Sytner BMW and he priced up a pair of LCI E60 headrests at around £340 which includes new guiding post brackets. However, the LCI E70 headrests and brackets came close to £500. So do I need to get the E70 headrests, (which does not make sense), or will the E60 ones work. I am aware the 'active' components wont work, but the reason for me for the retrofit is to increase the horizontal range that the current ones do not offer. When I asked the PM at Sytner BMW the opening question, this is how he responded:
"I have a non LCI saloon and an LCI touring in the work shop and I have measured the distance between the inner pole to inner pole at 13.3 CM for both of the head rests but the pole thickness for the LCI at 15.3 CM and the non LCI at 14.7 CM. Looking at this information and the way they mount I really do not think that a retrofit to change yours to the active head restraints is possible."
I know not to believe everything BMW says, but need some clarification and guidance from the forum. Lee has already confirmed LCI E70 headrests worked for him, but will LCI E60 headrests fit?
Any help would be greatly received.
