LCI Angel Eye Options
#1
What seems to be the consensus on upgrading the AE on LCI e60's? Cost is my least concern in the equation with ease of install, even distribution of light between both halos and a nice white light that is visible in daylight
Ones I have seen posted:
1). HID by Motorcepts
2). Trinity sells some h8 bulb replacements I think
3). Orion v-2's. Installed these on my e46 and love them but seems more challenging of an install on the e60
Tks

My Ride: 2008 550I,Space Grey,Hud,Cold Weather,M - Sport, matched GP Thunder headlights and Fogs,,Smoked Badges, Night Vision, Heated Seats,Rear Sunshades, Aux Audio, SAT, NAV, Black Grills, Sprint Booster, Dinan Cold Air, Stage 2 Dinan Software.....More to come soon
THIS IS MY 2 CENTS HERE;
Orions are the brightest also the most complicated to install, as far as the rest goes are pretty much the same in my opinion and you can spend as little as 9 dollars and as high as 300 if you like.
You can get HID and have to deal with Ballast install and location and again if something happens to your electrical this is a good excuse for BMW not to honor warranty!
I did a lot of research and came to conclusion that I don't like the AE to be so bright that blinds you so that makes the OrionV2 not viable plus I don't want to void my warranty by cutting into my headlight housing and I like my warranty so based on that I decided to buy the GP Thunder 8500 which is absolutely fine with me and they work great.
Again this is my perspective and my opinion and you can do your own research and find the best solution for you!

HID if you don't mind the plug plug plug plug n play install. I currently have LEDs and these work fine, for now since its winter and the days are short and gloomy. So rather visible during the daytime on most days. Once this is over I plan on switching my AEs again. I will probably go with HIDs, however I really really like the looks of Orions. I just don't want to slice open my stock lights so if I do go that route I will probably end up purchasing a used set of headlights in order to get Orions working.
John has got some new LEDs for LCI here. Looks bright. If you decide to go that route please post daytime pics.
