285/25 R20 would be better and closer to OEM overall diameter.
However, possible rubbing issues are very individual when using "oversized" tyres depending on the offsets and width of the wheel and even the shoulder profile of the tyre. I'm sure someone with 20" wheels and "oversized" tyres will chime in!

really? I just want it to look aggressive, and i really like the look of wide tires on the rear. So you think it would be safer to run a 275 instead? or would 285/25 be ok?

Like I said, it's a very individual thing would it fit. Probably no one can say for sure until someone has the exactly same setup...
I think you would be pretty much safe with 275/25 R20 tyre.

i would NOT suggest running a 20 series tires on 20 inch wheels, thats not enough protection for the rim and he can blow out the tires very easily, i would say 30-35 series on a 20

I personally would just go with a 275/30/20 on a 9.5. I think the 275/30/20 with the 9.5 would look pretty square. The 285/30/20 or 285/25/20 may look like there is a little too much tire, and not enough width on the wheel.

i ran 285/30/21s up until i had a blow out
...ofcourse i hit a monster pothole, not your everyday run of the mill vareity
i am back to my 19s will i get my wheels repaired and the tires replaced
285/30/19 in my rears
no rubbing on either one and its decent protection for the wheel
i am thinking of going wider to 295/25/21 but most likely i wont cause that just seems too thin
i do love the width the 285's give the car though
very aggressive
