L.E.D For third brake light?

Anyone know if this can be done. I just ordered the tailights from autogym, but I think it will look more complete with the third brake light in L.E.D.s

That's what I thought too... (It's definitely LED on E61!)

Yes it is.

Wait for the facelift, it will probably have led taillights,
they might fit the current E60 or then not...

Don`t buy any led blubs for the front or real light they will not fit the car`s computer. The computer will flash out a signel saying there is no blub installed, I have tryed it.
LCD is a low watt so thick computer thinks there is no bulb in it. for the tail light you need 21w LCD to work which thtere are non on the market.

Those selling rear lights led assemblies are selling in the package also an electronic device which can foul the computer into believing that everything's normal.

You can add resistors in parallel to the LED to give the OBC the appropriate load. For a 21W bulb, you'd need a 10ohm 20W resistor (and leave it where it can cool down a bit!)
