My Ride: Bmw 530d 2004
Hi everyone!
I could have put this into "detailing" section, but I promised earlier to give you some pics with my new coilover set and I thought it would caught your eye better here !
So, I got my KW Street Comfort coilover set installed last monday, and if I had to put it short, I'd say I LOVE IT !
I've had some 500-600 kms with it now, and I can confirm, it really IS comfort. At least as comfortable as a non-sport suspension, which I had before this. Soft is maybe the wrong word, but there is some "tenderness" in it. Stiff but gentle. Haha, like describing a wine ! I haven't got much possibilities to corner it hard yet, but even if it wasn't much better than stock, I'd still be happy. But I think it will rock anyway.
My goal was not to get a super-sporty ride, just to get the m-sport like lowering. As you can see from the pics, I can't have a very low car in wintry Finnish conditions. I asked about the OEM m-sport suspension from a couple of dealers, and it would have cost much more than this. So no to OEM this time .
Now there is 36cm (14,2") from the center of the wheel to the wheel arch, front and rear. We'll see if it settles a bit, but that wouldn't hurt either. The rebound damping has been set in the middle.
I put the 12mm spacer for rear. Now the wheel&tire flush much better in wheel arch. I have 5mm spacers for front, and I will put them on too in few days. They're not installed in these pics.
This day was sunny day here. However, the sun doesn't rise above the trees here in this time of year. Anyway, just enough light to get decent pictures after a wash. I couldn't almost believe how dirty the car was. The process:
1. AutoGlym Intensive Tar Remover Spray + wash out
2. Turtle Wax Big Orange shampoo wash + sheepskin mitt
3. AutoGlym Super Resin Polish
4. AutoGlym Liquid Hardwax
5. Presta Spray'N Shine quick detail
Sorry many of these pics are quite similar each other, but I just couldn't left anyone out. I already had difficulties to choose these
for you ! I hope you enjoy!
