I have the Koni's sport since Set/2008 set at full soft and it raised the front 0.5". Mid of last year i put new tires and the guy that was making the wheel aligment said that the car could lower a bit at full stiff set. At the same night i set it full stiff till today. The car didn't lower a bit and as the car is for DD, i set it at full soft again. But while reading the quick instructions guide, i realized that the shocks have 2 full turns with the knob and 5 full turns if you collapse and turn the shocks. What is the difference between the knob and collapse shock adjustment?

I searched in the forum and google, and didn't found any info about it.

I have mine set hard as I've been having rubbing problems with the M6 alloys. Do you too when turning? You car looks lower than mine does which is strange. Fronts about the same but yours is definately lower at the back.
Didn't think the rear was able to be lowered?

It only rubs when the steering wheel is fully locked, at reverse manouvers and rough pavement. Not so hard to live with it, just don't turn the wheel to the max in these cases. One of the benefits of the self-levelling suspension at the rear is that, to lower it you just need to rotate the levelling sensor.

from my understanding, any adjustments that are done to the shocks whether its the exteral knob or collapsing by rotating the strut are the same thing and only effects the setting of the damping. it shouldnt effect the height. the height it dependent on the springs.

Your are wrong. If you could leave it with the springs without shocks, the car would lower a bit. That is why the car was more lower with the worn oem shocks than with the koni's, both with Eibach springs.

Actually he is correct. The damper should have no effect on ride height, only ride comfort and handling.

The easiest way to explain is by simplifing what a shock is. A shock is built by taking a shaft connected to a disc with holes in it. This shaft and disc assembly is inserted into a tube and filled with pressurized gas and oil. That is all a shock is. As you can imagine, that assembly would have no effect on ride height.

What you are doing when you are spinning the knob is also easily explained. That disc with holes that I was mentioning, well take 2 of them. As you can imagine you could line up the holes perfectly, or you could offset the holes to allow a different amount of oil to pass through. Thats all your doing when you spin the knob (as well as spinning the whole shaft). Obviously, there is A LOT more to it than that, but in very basic terms that is what is going on.
