Just to update on this, I dont have comfort access and both key fobs have to be around 1 foot away from the car to lock/unlock.
I have used the same keyfob for well over a month as well (in a bid to charge up).
Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Any Suggestions?

This is a known issue, unfortunately it affects most people after a while and when you are out of warranty. The antennae unit in your car has to be replaced.

Click on the link my post (#11 above) and then click on the bottom two links in post I linked to. Those two links will give you more information about the diversity antenna and how to replace it. Also, if you haven't done so, take a look at the second link to learn about where the antennas are. It's possible that you have a problem with the rear window antenna or the connection between it and the diversity amplifier...

I had the same problem....it was the diversity antenna which is located on the right side of the back glass behind the interior trim panel. Covered under warranty.

Those antennae modules have undergone several revisions over the years. Make sure you get the latest one.

the actual antenna module thing crapped out. The fob would only work about 1 foot from the back of the car. At the front of the car it wouldn't work at all. It was weird....in a parking garage or my home garage it worked fine...I guess the signal would bounce off the ceiling? When I took it to the dealer they tested it in their garage, and they said it worked fine. I had to explain it to them, and they tested it outside and agreed. They replaced the module and now it works like it's suppose to.....I can unlock/ roll windows down from about 50-60 feet or so
