My Ride: 2010 535i Msport
Default Key fob

Hey gents, looking at trading in my 07 550 for a 2010 535. My question is can I keep my extra key fob and have it programmed to work on the 535?

Send it with the car, it won't do you any good. They are not reprogrammable. They are coded to the vin of that car and that car only. Besides you should get two fobs with the newer car. The price on them range from $250-500.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about, only getting one. That's why I was asking. I knew they weren't cheap. And odds are I'll sell my car before I know if the other one has two fobs. I know it's a dick move but of course I'm gonna look out for me first

Always look out for number 1. But in this case it won't do you any good. On the other since you know to look for two fobs with the new purchase you can work this into the deal. GL

Just about 50k. It was kind of an impulse buy, the 535 was the way I really wanted to go but it just too expensive at the time. And this 535 msport only has 18k miles on it. Couldn't pass it up
