Is there any point in this? Would it make any sound different. i know with petrol cars and only on some cars you can get a huge difference in sound.. But for my 530d? Hmm

i have a K & N filter on my 530d, (there huge things...)
it definatly has an induction roar, not too bad but definatly louder than standard, it gives it a more "meaty" sound, plus its far less restrictive, and gives you a few more HP.
cost about ?55

Do you think if i took out the stock filter and had nothing in.. and drove a little.. that should sound the same as having a k&n.. thats why they make that sound coz they let a heap load more air in.. then if i like the sound get the filter lol

I wouldnt if i were you, when you see all the crap that has accululated in the housing you will have second thoughts.

I used to be a fan of K&N filters in previous cars but to be honest they can coat your MAF in oil and I have read instances of them letting stuff through. In other cars I did notice that it did make the accelerator more responsive, less resistance for the airflow.

Do you know if this filter is suitable for a 535d LCI version? If yes, could you let me know the part number/dimensions of the filter?
