anytime you place a box in a sealed trunk without anyway of getting it out, you will have some rattling, there is a solution which i will post pics whenever my system is done, i think only one guy Merzow has done its building a custom enclosure and sealing it to the trunk firing directly in through the skipass this will create no rattling in the trunk and provide you with the bass in to the cabin, you can also tune a box to a certain frequency, as iceman said he wanted to get tighter bass out of his , he will need to up the frequency in his amplifier to 60-80 hz to get a tighter bass, if the subs aren't responsive to that frequency then its due to the enclosure. Im posting first phase pics of my kickpanels and the doors will be finalized next weekend, long proces a lot of work but here they go, the trunk and custom box will be the last phase.
oh by the way im also wood graining an lcd alpine monitor match my woodgrain in the front console..... stay tuned
