I just saw snow last week myself. But it was only on a real cold day at over 5000ft (1500m) in the mountains.
The last 2 days in Charlotte, it hit 90 (32C)

Actually there's still a bunch of snow in the woods and countryside. It's no wonder to find snow and ice on secluded ponds and their surroundings even at the midsummer.
