That's the other thing I've been thinking... Why get the remote display? You can't really stealth install the V1?

Remote display to hide the bright LED at night. Discourages other drivers from following you at night.

i hate looking up when i drive so i have the remote velcro'd above the steering column. i also a too lazy to reach up to press the mute button, now i just have to slightly move my arm.
