The '04 545i does not come with Bluetooth but you can definitely get it retrofitted at your local dealership. I have an '04 545i and i recently had my car retrofitted for the bluetooth. They just replace your TCU with a newer version that comes with the bluetooth. I think it's several hundred dollars for the retrofit; I got hooked up at my dealership because the service advisor is a friend of mine and I had some issues with my old TCU so they just replaced it and along the way retrofitted my car with the bluetooth!
I just found out yesterday that, if I understand right, my TCU does not need to be upgraded, only the software. As "choi000" stated, if I needed the actual TCU upgrade, it would cost quite a bit - at least enough to make it hard to justify. The software change only "MAY" be covered under warranty.

I'm not sure about the date confusion from "jsal", but I think he meant Mar '04. It sounds like cars manufactured after this need software only (like mine), manufactured before require the actual upgrade.

Once I get the work done, I'll post the results and if it was covered under warranty or not. BTW, the dealer should be able to run your VIN and find out if the TCU needs upgrading or not.
