Very interesting. Would be nice to do a more controlled shoot-out between you guys.

Another thing I'd like to see is tuned 535 vs tuned 335...I have not seen real concrete info on head to head runs but it seems the 335's are much faster than we are. I thought the main differences were just that ours weigh about 200lbs more and perhaps a slightly more restrictive exhaust but the 335's seem to be soo much faster.

I did an impromptu 0-60 with fellow member alpha12345 at the Bear Mtn run. We both had spastic starts and I had my DSC on but after the cars were hooked up he was walking away from me. This was in the middle of fifty other e60 driving crazy so we could not re-run that day. I have 384 hp and 421 ft/lbs and on the JB website is says that the JB3 has 420 hp and 420 ft/lbs.

My Ride: 535i Deep Sea BLUe bms filter, jb3, ac shnitzer roof and trunk spoiler. 5% tint. 10k top and bottom XENOX, magnaflo exhaust with custom made y pipe

jb3 is a great product i never had a problem at the dealership regarding a chip or any mod rather. I came out of a bmw dealership today with intake, exhaust, jb3 and they didnt say a word. Jb3 all the way and you can get one for 700 bux thats a steal. Compared to dinan, and im not talking down on them but the gains are alot diff between the two..........in regards to the 335 vs 535 my friend and i went at it a few times... 0 - 60 hes at most a half a car... at 100 hes 1.5 to 2 cars ahead we both had the same work JB2hh at the time. Now we both have the jb3 and love it, we didnt run yet with m new exhaust, it feels a little stronger i can only imagine what it would be like on race gas right now.. lol

They probably will re-badge the Dinan software as M Sport Performance software.

penneta your right when i was in dealer i saw they already had a performace section for the 3 series. Strut bar, lowering springs i believe and cams! They def wanna get there hand into this GREAT after market world so im sure they will and are coming out with a software i mean they might as well capitalize on it.

3 series guys are much more likely to buy performance parts than 5 series guys, thus the BMW 3 series products. I was told back in March 2007 that BMW was coming out with their own line. SInce then they have increased the 3 series stuff but not the 5 series. Hopefully it will happen because you are correct in that there is a hugh market out there. Case in point: I didn't spend $1800 on NAV but happily spent $2000 on performance software.

Nice, ok...so maybe it is just as simple as the slightly higher weight and possibly slightly more restrictive exhaust. You guys were both just on JB2HH, no other mods? Driver only in both cars? I have seen soo much info on performance of 335 vs all cars but not too many 535's..if we know how we do against equally modded 335 we can at least go from there.

I originally was totally against changing my exhaust BUT if it really is that much of a hinderance vs 335 I might just do it. What exhaust are you running? When you get a chance to run him again with exhaust I will be VERY interested in the results. You still have your cats and stock Down pipes?

we were both by our selves same set up but he had a dual cone i had a single. I had stock run flats he had general tires. WE will run again for sure i ll let u know. As far as exhaust i have the magnaflow with a custom y pipe stock cats and stock downpipes... the exhaust sounds really nice not too loud not too quite u ll like it it makes a noticible difference. I constantly hit 4.5 on jb3 in auto mode with traction off, i didn't do runs with the exhaust because a friend of mine borrowed the jb3 and ill prob get it back tonite. I also played around with tire pressure and did a 4.3 the car is really really strong.

No doubt bro. I've heard stories from e90post.com how 335's go neck to neck with an M5 from 0-120 and 335's smoking E55 AMGs. Also, a Vishnu tuned 135 spanked a Gallardo in a quarter mile!

A JB3 only tuned car can go 4.5 sec 0-60! That's M5 territory bud.
yes sir... i just sold my dinan 335i.. and let me tell you... its was stupid fast... and iv rolled with my boy alpha... his car is real quick.... like c said he was passin 550`s at the meet....

Wrong.

Dinan software voids factory warranty. Dinan picks up the 4yr/50,000 warranty with their own Dinan warranty.

Hey i have just recently installed my JB3. See link for review:

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1899

JB3 has more power than Dinan and it's undetectable with the current progman software. Yes Dinan has warranty but it can be voided if you have NON-Dinan parts. IMO, JB3 is the best tune out there not because of the price but for it's reliability (NO CODES or LIMP MODES), ease of install (pinout isn't that bad, trust me i'm a newbie in doing installs like this. if i can do it, you can too!), and POWER!
+1

More power, undetectable, easily removed for service visits.
