I am going to have to remove my rear wheels and leave them off for a couple of days and wanted to see if anyone knew where to jack up the car and where to place the jack stand? Thanks in advance.

The jacking points are indicated by little arrows on the side skirts. Also the owner's manual. Behind the front wheel, and in front of the rears. When you look under, you'll see the little rectangular rubber pieces where you put the jack.

Hey Calvin, do you remember that posting that had the adapter for our cars while using a jack? I want to pick that up.

Can I put jackstands on there? If I need to lift the car though to put it on jack stands, where can I lift it in the rear? Thanks

Is it safe to jack it up from the rear differential and then rest the car on jack stands on the side jacking points?

Here is a link where a guy does it on his e39. Is this safe to do with the e60?

there is a black plastic rectangle on the underbody shield towards the front that you can use for a jacking point to lift the front.

as for the rear, you used to be able to lift the car by the diff, but i noticed on my 550i, that the diff has extra cooling fins that stick down. you might damage them.

maybe you can jack the car up using the stock location, and place a jack stand underneath the lower control arm.

so if the diff doesn't have fins, would you be able to lift it there with no damage?

i've done it before on my older m3 and 3series, but not on an e60. its your call. usually the diif and mount is very strong on a car, but i'd lean towards jacking on the sides and placing jackstands. maybe put your stock jack on one side, and a floor jack on the other, and lift evenly.

Yes side jack point just right under the door and rear door is the best.... however, even I have three jacks in my garage, I still consider put stand is much secure. I have put a very thick pad and jack up from diff, then put two sends in both side of jackpoint. Again, I also worried about the diff case is strong enough or not.... but so far so good.
